Meet the Genesee County Commissioner for District 4
Dr. Beverly Brown was appointed by the Genesee County Board of Commissioners in January, 2023, filling a vacant seat. Courage called her to the position. Her education and work experience translates to effectiveness as a public servant. Indeed, Dr. Brown’s actions have enhanced county government, thereby benefiting residents from all demographics.
“I am ready and willing to help build a future for our county that we can all be proud of. Now let’s get to work!” Dr. Brown uttered these words immediately following her appointment. Since that time, she has not shied away from the challenging work in county government.
What does Beverly Brown bring to the table?
Beverly brings people and organizations together. For example, she initiated a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Genesee County and the University of Michigan-Flint to help leverage resources. She was also the catalyst for bringing the Women in Skilled Trades (WIST) program to the county, helping to diversity our workforce. Indeed, Dr. Brown advocates for diversity, equity and inclusion by
